TAA
Air Turnover Systems
TAA Series Air Turnover units are unique floor mounted heating and cooling, or cooling-only units designed to maintain comfortable room temperatures without a duct distribution system.
TAA units are available with air delivery from 13,000 to 81,000 CFM. Standard DX cooling coil capacities are from a nominal 27 to 148 tons. Standard chilled-water coil capacities are from a nominal 28 to 140 tons. The optional indirect fired gas heat section had capacities from 650,000 to 4,000,000 BTUH.
The TAA utilizes the Air Turnover principle to take advantage of air stratification in buildings with open spaces. It does this by allowing hot air to become trapped at the ceiling. Large volume air movement is provided by centrifugal fans, which turn the room air over 2.5 to 5 times each hour. Continuous air circulation then thoroughly mixes the air to maintain uniform room temperature. This uniform room temperature eliminates the possibility of condensation forming on stored materials because of uneven room temperature.

DDC CONTROLS ARE OPTIONAL
Patented Precision
The TAA is capable of more precise temperature control and real time on-board diagnostics thanks to the patented TracRite DDC control system (Patent #7,059,536). Interfacing with local networks is made easier since the TracRite system supports BACnet, LON, N2, and Modbus.
FACTORY MOUNTED AND WIRED VFD OPTIONAL
Match Fan Speed to Load
The already lower operating costs of the TAA unit can be further enhanced with the optional VFD for the supply fans. Building thermal loads can vary widely, especially in very large warehouses and factories that might be operating 24/7. Adding the VFD option to the TAA, and integrating it with the TracRite DDC system, can result in significant operating cost savings by matching fan speeds to the demands of the building.
4-PASS DRUM AND TUBE HEAT EXCHANGER
Maximum Heat Transfer Surface Area
The Temprite TAA system 4-pass heat exchanger consists of a large primary section and a secondary section of multiple tubes depending on the capacity you require. The sections are connected via collector boxes at the ends of each pass. The primary section of the heat exchanger is manufactured of 400 series stainless steel and secondary section is manufactured of mild steel {standard} or 400 series stainless steel {optional}. The primary section is rolled, and seam welded in the Mestex factory in Dallas. All seams are continuous welded in the factory and tested for leaks. The primary section has a pressure relief and visual inspection port. The secondary section includes a condensation drain port.
INDUCED DRAFT FAN
Venting Combustion Products to the Atmosphere
A direct drive motor spins the fan in the induced draft assembly and vents the combustion products to the atmosphere. The entire assembly (less the motor itself) is manufactured in the Dallas factory. The fan is of a non-clogging, radial blade design. The assembly also includes a manual damper with locking quadrant so that it can be adjusted during the startup process to assure proper induction.
POWERED COMBUSTION BURNER
Efficient Air/Fuel Mixing and Combustion
The combustion burner has an integral blower and motor, air proving switch, and pilot assembly. There is also a combustion air damper that is interlocked with the gas control valve in order to produce the proper air/fuel mixture throughout the operating range.
FACTORY ASSEMBLED GAS TRAIN
Tested and Ready to Fire
The factory wired and assembled gas train consists of low pressure gas regulator, motorized gas control valve, main gas shutoff valve, pilot pressure regulator, and pilot gas shutoff valve. The burner controls can be On/Off, Hi/Low/Off, or Fully Modulating.
FLEXIBLE COOLING CHOICES TO SUIT YOUR REQUIREMENTS
Industry Standard Coil Designs
The Temprite TAA is designed to include two four row (DX) (CW) cooling coils with copper tubes, aluminum fins and galvanized steel casing. The coils are mounted in an “A” coil arrangement with an insulated stainless steel drain pan under each coil. Coil velocities are designed not exceed 550 FPM in order to minimize the risk of moisture carryover.
EASY TO INSTALL HEATING, COOLING, VENTILATION WITH NO DUCTWORK
Modular Construction for Stackable Installation
The TAA offers the most flexible type of air turnover system by nature of its modular design. Individual sections are designed with mating flanges and lifting lugs so assembling the unit in the field can often be completed with a small crew and a forklift (depending upon unit model). The unit includes a discharge section with multiple adjustable supply grills so that the airflow pattern can be optimized to cover the space with no ductwork required. The TAA operates as a typical air turnover unit but can provide year around temperature control.
CENTRIFUGAL BLOWERS FOR EFFECTIVE AIR DELIVERY
Coverage For Large Floorplans
TAA units are supplied with three centrifugal forward curve, DWDI blowers rated in accordance with AMCA standards. The blowers are mounted on a heavy duty, turned and ground and polished solid steel shaft designed for a maximum operating speed not to exceed 75% of its first critical speed.
